Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with expertise in critical care to join our team as a Critical Care Nurse Specialist in long-term care settings. The successful candidate will provide compassionate and individualized care to residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • To assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans for residents in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • To provide direct care to residents, including administering medications, performing wound care, and assisting with activities of daily living.
  • To work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions and comprehensive support services for residents.
  • To maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • To participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A current RN registration with the College of Nurses of British Columbia (CNRBC).
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in critical care, preferably in long-term care settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain a calm demeanor in fast-paced environments.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification, ACLS, CTAS, and Critical Care Certificate.

  • One-time travel coverage for both ways upon completion of 100 shift hours.
  • A monthly bonus of $1600 for a minimum contract length of 1 month.

Work Schedule:

The working schedule includes:

  • 12-hour shifts.
  • Days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Overtime pay at 1.5x the regular rate for hours worked above 80 in a bi-weekly period.
