Advanced Care Paramedic Role

The Advanced Care Paramedic plays a vital role in the healthcare team, working in collaboration with other interdisciplinary members to meet patient care needs. This position requires the paramedic to practice within the Advanced Care Paramedic scope of practice and demonstrate competencies in the provision of care.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and continually enhancing competencies through ongoing professional development, including participation in education programs, research, and continuous quality activities. They will also contribute to the efficiency and effective functioning of the department in meeting patient needs.
This role requires the paramedic to support the development of colleagues and students by acting as a preceptor and providing ongoing mentorship.
About YouWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Care Paramedic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have:
- Grade XII required
- Registered and licensed with the College of Paramedics of Nova Scotia (CPNS) required
- One (1) year of experience working as an Advanced Care Paramedic an asset
- Current BLS (HCP) Certification required
- CTAS
- ACLS
- Previous work experience in a hospital setting or emergency care preferred
- Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, patient assessment, and telecommunication skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $31.52 - $36.57.
