Job Title: Digital Technology Sector Lead

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our efforts in the Digital Technology sector at Export Development Canada (EDC). As a key player in our Sectors Team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relevant industry sector strategies and generating new export business opportunities for Canadian companies.

The successful candidate will have deep industry knowledge in digital technology and a broad understanding of the industries in which these emerging technologies can be deployed. They will have a strong understanding of the Canadian ecosystem, an existing network within the sector, and an ability to understand Canadian companies' product offerings, technical capabilities, competitive advantages, and relevant value propositions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain industry sector strategies to support Canadian exporters and investors.
  • Generate and nurture new export business opportunities for Canadian companies.
  • Participate in industry events and facilitate introductions of Canadian companies to international opportunities.
  • Provide recommendations on Canadian capabilities related to targeted international supply chains.
  • Take a leadership role in executing and communicating the Sector Team's tech strategy both internally and externally.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or equivalent professional designation in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of combined business development and technical advisory experience in the relevant sector/area of responsibility.
  • Advanced knowledge of best practices in sales and/or account management.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting to executive teams and strategy development to support the Canadian tech ecosystem.
  • Well-developed and deep professional network and strong technical and business knowledge acquired through directly relevant business activity.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and lead virtual teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in both official languages (English and French).
  • Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.
