About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead residential home renovation projects from start to finish. As a Residential Homes Contractor, you will be responsible for planning and preparing work schedules, selecting and employing trade subcontractors, and ensuring the quality and conformity of their work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and prepare work schedules to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Select and employ trade subcontractors and coordinate their activities
  • Inspect subcontractors' work to ensure quality and conformity with plans and specifications
  • Develop and implement marketing and advertising strategies to attract new customers
  • Plan and manage budgets to ensure profitability and efficiency
  • Perform various trade work during home construction or renovation activities
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers
  • Train staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge
  • Develop and implement business plans to drive growth and success
  • Prepare estimates and bids for home construction, renovation, and restoration projects
  • Work with customers, architects, and engineers to ensure plans and specifications are met
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors
  • Ensure that construction permits are obtained and all necessary regulations are met
  • Develop and implement health and safety plans to ensure a safe working environment
  • Human resource planning and development to ensure the success of the team
  • Schedule and coordinate work on sites to ensure efficient use of resources
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations to ensure success
Requirements
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in residential home renovation or construction
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Ability to work on site and in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage a large workload
