About the Role
Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Temporary full-time Community Recruiter to join our dynamic Collections Operations Ont team.
The Collections Operations Ont team is responsible for collecting plasma in a safe manner to enable safe products which save lives every day.
In this role, you will attend events/festivals to engage with community members and create brand awareness about Canadian Blood Services.
This opportunity will allow you to interact with hundreds of festival goers and attendees while enjoying the activities in your local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize your communication skills to educate and inform the general public about the need for donors locally.
- Draw on your ability to connect with people to fill up a robust contact platform to allow us to communicate further with interested community members.
- Work with volunteers to support the growth of awareness about Canadian Blood Services.
- Leverage your experience in developing and managing sales opportunities to identify events/festivals and other opportunities to set up activation booths.
- Organize, set up, and maintain the supplies for these activation display booths.
Requirements
- Experience with sales, promotions, and/or marketing and dealing with the public.
- Ability to initiate conversation and speak comfortably regarding opportunities to get involved at Canadian Blood Services.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Strong personal initiative and a passion for the cause.
- Some post-secondary education, plus related experience or equivalent combination.
- Preference will be given to those with an interest in Sales, Communications, Marketing, or Public Outreach.
- Preference will be given to those with previous experience with volunteers and volunteering.
- Experience with use of devices such as tablets and laptops.
- Experience with use of social media.

What You Can Expect
- Shift/hours - available to work days, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
- Travel requirements - travel will be required to community events. We offer a mileage program if using a personal vehicle.
- Physical requirements - ability to lift weight up to 10 kg (22 lbs.).
