Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Biological Sciences at Thompson Rivers University is seeking a Human Physiologist and/or Anatomist to deliver lectures in our Anatomy and Physiology courses for Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, and students interested in the allied health sciences.

We are looking for a candidate with relevant training in Physiology, Medical Sciences, Rehabilitation Sciences, Human Health Sciences, and/or Human Pathophysiology. A PhD in Physiology or a related discipline, along with demonstrated teaching experience at the university level, is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering lectures face-to-face for both sections of this anatomy and physiology course, marking exams and assignments, consulting with students in person, via email, or through Moodle. Additional teaching/instruction is available in the form of labs to increase the workload for those interested.

Hiring for this position is subject to final budgetary approval.

Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentorship, collaboration within the Department and with colleagues across campus, participation in undergraduate Honours and MSc programs, and developing a positive environment where students are encouraged to grow as independent learners and critical thinkers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Physiology, Medical Sciences, Rehabilitation Sciences, Human Health Sciences, and/or Human Pathophysiology, and will be able to deliver lectures in a clear and engaging manner.
