We are seeking a skilled Preventive Dental Assistant to join our team at Nursing & Homemakers Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dental assisting and a passion for providing exceptional patient care.



About the Role

  • Job Summary: Assist dentists in providing preventative dental care to patients.
  • Key Responsibilities:



  • Prepare patients for dental examinations and procedures
  • Prepare plaster models and moulds for dental restorations
  • Supervise and train dental assistants in their health care functions
  • Cast gold or metal alloys for bridges and denture bases
  • Order dental and office supplies
  • Perform administrative tasks and reception duties
  • Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
  • Take and develop X-rays
  • Record dental procedures and maintain patient records
  • Invoice patients for dental services
  • Polish and buff dentures
  • Fabricate and place temporary crowns and restorations
  • Assist in taking preliminary impressions for diagnostic casts


Requirements

  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a dental setting
  • Skills:



  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Ability to distinguish between colours
  • Team player with excellent problem-solving skills


Working Conditions
