Tax Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Specialist to join our team at TransAlta. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the filing of U.S. federal, state, and local tax returns, as well as providing tax advice and support on various business transactions.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the preparation and review of U.S. tax returns, including cross-border tax compliance filings.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax positions.
- Provide tax advice and support on business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
- Monitor and analyze changes in tax legislation and assess the potential impact on the company.
- Manage and coordinate tax audits and inquiries by federal, state, and local tax authorities.
- Experience with U.S. tax compliance and planning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
