Learning Support Teacher Resource

New Westminster Schools is seeking a qualified Learning Support Teacher Resource to join our team. As a key member of our school-based support services, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs.
About the Role:
- Provide direct service to students in small group, pull-out, and push-in situations
- Support teachers in differentiating, adapting, and modifying curricula, instruction, and assessment
- Collaborate with school-based teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Advocate for students with special needs and promote inclusive practices
Requirements:
- Valid BC Teachers Certificate in Elementary education
- Diploma or Master's degree in Special Education, with coursework in students with special needs, strategies for adapting and modifying curriculum, and learning disabilities
- Level B Assessment qualification (EPSE 421 or equivalent)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience at the elementary level
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and revising IEPs for a wide range of students
- Knowledge of assistive technologies, such as BoardMaker and Read & Write
