Learning Support Teacher Resource

New Westminster Schools is seeking a qualified Learning Support Teacher Resource to join our team. As a key member of our school-based support services, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs.
About the Role:
- Deliver a range of support services to students with identified special needs, including those without designations who require learning support.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and school-based teams to provide direct and consultative support.
- Support teachers in differentiating, adapting, and modifying curricula, instruction, and assessment.
- Advocate for inclusion and support students with diverse learning needs.
Requirements:
- Valid BC Teachers Certificate in Elementary education.
- Diploma or Master's Degree in Special Education, with coursework in students with special needs, strategies for adapting and modifying curriculum, and learning disabilities.
- Level B Assessment qualification (EPSE 421 or equivalent).
- Ability to provide direct service to students in small group, pull-out, and push-in situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience at the required level.
- Drafting, reviewing, and revising IEPs for a wide range of students.
- Knowledge of assistive technologies, such as BoardMaker and Read & Write.
