$85,000 - $105,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description:

The Project Analyst plays a vital role in supporting the Victoria Shipyards Finance team by analyzing project financials, forecasting profits and losses, and identifying areas for process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with operations to ensure project financials are accurate and up-to-date.Develop and maintain detailed financial models and reports to support business decisions.Analyze variances between forecast and actuals, and provide explanations to stakeholders.Create and maintain an accurate cash forecast for projects.Drive process improvement initiatives that impact the function.Attend and contribute to project review meetings to communicate financial impacts of current operations and forecasted costs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An undergraduate degree in Business or Finance.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in operational/project accounting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and proficiency in other MS Office tools.
  • Experience in project accounting and firm knowledge of IFRS and ASPE in regard to revenue recognition.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.
