About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Earthworks Foreman to join our team at CKB Construction. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for guiding the day-to-day activities of a crew of up to 15 people, ensuring that project requirements are met safely, with minimal rework, and in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor a team of construction professionals, providing guidance and coaching to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Conduct daily field documentation, including toolbox meetings, review of job hazard analyses, weekly job site and equipment inspections, and time sheets.
  • Assist in the coordination and tracking of manpower, materials, and equipment, and operate and effectively utilize heavy equipment as required.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures, including the progressive disciplinary policy, and report any changes to scope or safety incidents to the supervisor immediately.
  • Collaborate with project management to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in earthworks, with a strong background in roadworks, highways, and subdivisions.
  • Experience in projects involving stormwater management, culvert installation, and drainage improvements.
  • Knowledge of Alberta Transportation projects and specifications is an asset.
  • Ability to operate and understand the capability of various equipment is considered an asset.
  • CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015, LSE, First Aid, and Ground Disturbance Level 2 certifications are required.

Working Conditions

Candidates will be working outside in all weather conditions, spending long periods of time on their feet, standing/walking around the project site. They must be willing to commit to 50+ hours per week at various locations within Alberta, with typical shifts from 7:00am to 6:30pm.
