Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Analyst to join our team at FortisBC. As a Technical Analyst, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our end users, administering and completing advanced technology requests, and performing departmental deskside/helpdesk functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Provide frontline and advanced technical support to our end users, including desktop computing, mobile computing, communications, end-user support, printing devices, network infrastructure, and server storage.
  • Technology Administration: Administer and complete advanced technology requests, including software and hardware upgrades, installations, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Help Desk Functions: Perform departmental deskside/helpdesk functions, including problem receiving, recording, and tracking, as well as administering departmental software and hardware inventory records.
  • Software and Hardware Management: Administer software licensing, provide advanced support for mobile and smart devices, and repair computer software and/or hardware.
  • Project Support: Assist senior staff on various projects, including creating device images and software packages for deployment, setting up/delivering PC equipment, and recycling excess surplus equipment.
  • Procurement and Validation: Process quotes, arrange procurement, and validate necessary hardware and software.
  • Work Tracking and Reporting: Track work performed in problem management system, prepare progress reports, and administer and maintain corporate workstation assets.
  • Knowledge Management: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the company's computer systems and administer multiple resources, task breakdown, and delegation, and set milestones.
Requirements
  • Education: 2-year Diploma in Computer or Electronics Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience: 4 years' related work experience.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of current operating systems, imaging processes in a corporate environment, software deployment in a corporate environment, working knowledge of the server environment, and maintaining business contacts with suppliers, service reps, and other businesses.
  • Technical Skills: Windows Server-based network environment, including user maintenance, scheduling, printer configuration, remote connectivity, Microsoft Office applications, collaboration, and communication systems, and advanced working knowledge of all peripherals and network attached devices.
  • Driver's License: Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's license.
