Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at Fraser Health, providing exceptional care to individuals with mental health and substance use issues in a community setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide treatment and care management services to individuals with mental health and substance use issues, working collaboratively with the interprofessional care team.
- Conduct mental health assessments, develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, and administer prescribed medications as needed.
- Work from a strengths-based model, using motivational interviewing and engagement techniques to support clients in achieving their goals.
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients and their informal support networks, promoting person-centered care and empowering clients to manage their own care.
- Teach clients and their families about management and treatment of specific psychiatric conditions, concurrent substance use issues, and their symptoms.
- Provide treatment services, including crisis intervention, individual counseling, and education, using a variety of theoretical models.
- Initiate and participate in case conferences/meetings with clients, family, service providers, and members of the interprofessional team to ensure a coordinated approach to treatment.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing.
- Two years recent related experience providing treatment services to individuals with mental health and/or concurrent disorders.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.
- Completion of a substance use certificate program.
- Eligibility for completion of the BC Provincial Opiate Addiction Treatment Support Program course and approved related preceptorship.
