Fleet Maintenance Shop Manager

At Canada Cartage Group, we're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our vehicle maintenance facility. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient repair and maintenance of our trucking fleet, while also managing budgets, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and enforcing safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delegating and directing service tasks, monitoring the progress of current projects, and managing service team to ensure the team's objectives and goals are met.
  • Handling customer complaints or concerns quickly and professionally to maintain good customer relationships and ensure repeat customers.
  • Auditing vendor invoices ensuring job estimates are accurate, and warranty or goodwill requirements are fulfilled while managing to reduce overall repair costs.
  • Working closely with shift managers, setting up and maintaining service department and evaluating its productivity and efficiency.
  • Performing quarterly and yearly performance reviews with shop employees.
  • Resolving service desk problems and improving service methods to increase the service desk's productivity and customer service.
  • Monitoring department issues and client complaints to create methods to lessen recurring issues.
  • Helping to train new employees in company procedures.
  • Maintaining a strong working knowledge of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws, ensuring the company's adherence to these regulations, and remaining current on the industry's standards and new innovations, materials, tools, and processes.
  • Working closely with local and remote operation teams, scheduling equipment for service and repairs including daily status updates.

Requirements:

  • 3-4 years of experience working in a Fleet environment with management experience.
  • College diploma in a business or related field.
  • 310T Truck and Coach Journeyperson.
  • Excellent computer skills which include Word and Excel.
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving.
