Job Overview

As a key member of our construction team, the Site Superintendent will oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to interpret plans and specifications, solve problems, and communicate effectively with trade partners, suppliers, and customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and develop on-site team members, ensuring clear direction and a safe working environment.
  • Communicate with trade partners and suppliers to schedule deliveries and installations, and inspect work to ensure it meets Qualico's standards and building codes.
  • Interpret plans and specifications, solve problems, and communicate errors or discrepancies to the project management team.
  • Meet with customers prior to possession to inspect homes and respond to inquiries or concerns, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Maintain project schedules, complete progress reports, and provide regular updates to the project management team.
  • Ensure adherence to Qualico's Safety Program and relevant safety legislation, performing site safety orientations, leading regular safety meetings, and completing required reporting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of site superintendent supervisory experience in Residential Construction.
  • Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
  • Comfortable using office equipment, Microsoft Office programs, and construction management software.
  • Physically able to carry out basic construction duties.

Work Conditions

This role primarily works on-site during regular business hours, with occasional travel to the regional office or other site locations. Work may involve exposure to noise, occupational hazards, and inclement weather.
