Senior Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our client's growing public accounting firm in Etobicoke. This individual will oversee daily operations, train and mentor junior staff, and work closely with management to provide exceptional service to clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships through daily correspondence and connection
  • Manage a diverse client portfolio with expertise and professionalism
  • Prepare compilation files and investment write-ups with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Conduct review and audit engagements independently, ensuring high-quality results
  • Prepare personal, trust, and corporate income tax returns with precision and efficiency
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting records and financial statements
  • Communicate effectively with government agencies as required
  • Stay up-to-date with complex financial reports and provide insightful analysis
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
  • CPA designation or close to achieving it
  • Experience with CaseWare, TaxPrep, and QuickBooks (online and desktop versions)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building and maintaining professional relationships
  • A strong sense of judgment and decision-making
  • Organizational and planning skills for managing multiple tasks and priorities
  • Multi-tasking skills for handling diverse responsibilities
