As a Senior Healthcare Risk Management Specialist, you will play a pivotal part in our mission by providing expert guidance and advice to support HIROC subscribers from across all healthcare sectors.

Our ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with subject matter expertise in risk management, safety, quality improvement, and analytics within the complex Canadian healthcare system. You will have a broad understanding of standards informing healthcare delivery, including provider and client needs, regulatory and legal frameworks, emergency preparedness and response, cultural competence, and inclusivity in healthcare. Experience with data systems/analysis and advanced clinical/business acumen in specialty areas such as obstetrics/perinatal, emergency medicine, and intensive care would be beneficial.

This role requires a collaborative mindset, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with a team of like-minded professionals to support subscribers with risk management and patient safety subject matter. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting subscriber stewardship through meetings, building safety capacity, providing risk/safety education, and spreading best practices
  • Enhancing subscriber experience by applying safety science methodologies for processes, procedures, safety intelligence, education, and resource development
  • Responding to subscriber queries, tools, customized claims analysis, trends analysis, meeting preparations, and attendance

In addition to these key responsibilities, you will also identify and share learnings, support safety collaborations, review and analyze healthcare legal claims data, and report potential new risk/safety themes and opportunities. A well-organized individual with excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines is essential for this role.

The estimated salary range for this position is between $85,000 - $115,000 per year, based on factors such as location, industry standards, and level of experience.
