As a prominent provider of legal services in North America, Legal Aid Ontario plays a vital role in promoting access to justice throughout Ontario for low-income individuals.

Leveraging its mixed services delivery model, Legal Aid Ontario offers a range of legal services in both official languages, extending from summary legal advice to full representation.
Job DescriptionThe President and Chief Executive Officer serves as the strategic executive leader responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Legal Aid Ontario. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, this individual represents the agency in communicating with government and external stakeholders to ensure stable, adequate, and sustainable funding and resources.
The President and CEO maintains strong relationships with LAO stakeholders, including the public, judiciary, justice officials, lawyers, legal aid clinics, and relevant organizations, to proactively communicate about issues of concern within the justice system and foster improvement.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership in managing the agency's operations and ensuring the achievement of its objectives
- Represent Legal Aid Ontario in communication with government and external stakeholders
- Maintain and foster strong relationships with LAO stakeholders
To succeed in this position, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful leadership and administration within a service-oriented environment.
They will have experience overseeing substantial budgets, preferably within the public sector, and managing a large workforce, including unionized employees, with efficiency and effectiveness.
A comprehensive understanding of the justice system is essential, as is the ability to navigate complex political environments while maintaining a client-focused approach.
CompensationThe salary for this position is estimated to be $200,000 - $250,000 per annum, based on industry standards and location.
