The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care at Southlake Regional Health Centre. Your expertise and skills will be essential in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient-focused care within the RPN scope of practice, adhering to the College of Nurses of Ontario's three-factor framework.
- Function in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures, including emergency codes.
- Ensure practice is consistent with entry-to-practice competencies, standards of practice, guidelines, and legislation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Collaborate with Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide care for patients with complex health issues.
- Participate in the assessment and documentation of patient health status on an ongoing basis.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Plan of Care and evaluate its effectiveness.
- Assist in the orientation and preceptorship of new staff members and students to the clinical units.
- Act as a role model and champion to integrate safe, best practices into daily activities.
- RPN diploma from a recognized school of nursing.
- RPN Certificate of Registration, in good standing, from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Crisis Intervention Institute Certificate or equivalent violence prevention training required or to be obtained within three months of hire.
