Nurse Practitioner

The Advanced Practice Nurse/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner will engage in direct and indirect advanced clinical practice, education, research, and consultation within the CV Surgery department to ensure the highest quality of care is provided to patients and families.
Key Responsibilities:- Participate in direct and indirect advanced clinical practice, education, research, and consultation within the CV Surgery department.
- Actively participate as part of the CV Surgery team and professional leadership team in promoting quality care by implementing evidence-based practices, evaluating patient outcomes, developing and evaluating policies, clinical programs, and services.
- Collaborate with inter-professional teams to provide high-quality patient care.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives and program evaluations.
- Provide excellent communication, both written and verbal, and demonstrate problem assessment skills.
- Commit to customer service and teamwork, and demonstrate individual leadership skills.
- Master in Nursing/Nurse Practitioner Stream or Master in Nursing/Master of Science in Nursing with successful completion of a post-Master's Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program from a recognized school of graduate studies.
- BCLS required.
- Minimum 3 years' experience as an advanced practice nurse in CV Surgery preferred.
- Minimum 3 years' relevant clinical specialty-related experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Registered Nurse in the extended class with Ontario Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Member of the RNAO and Nurse Practitioner's Association of Ontario.
