About the Role

The Cleaner is a key member of our facilities team, responsible for providing cleaning and related services to our clients. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out cleaning and related tasks to meet client requirements, including washing, dusting, emptying litter and recycling containers, and operating cleaning equipment.
  • Secure assigned facilities after hours by locking doors, closing windows, and resetting security systems as required.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, and guidelines related to environmental, health, and safety, and fire protection.
  • Represent BGIS in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintain positive relations.
  • May be required to work shifts, work on-call/standby, and emergency call-out as required.

Requirements

  • High school education.
  • One year or less of experience in industrial/commercial facility cleaning operations.
  • Self-starter, willing to learn, able to work independently.
  • Team player.
  • Good verbal communication and writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Positive attitude toward all aspects of Environment, Health and Safety.
  • Knowledge of national and industry codes and standards such as WHMIS.
