Heavy Equipment Technician Specialist

As a Resident Heavy Equipment Technician with Journeyperson certification, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our fleet of equipment and ensuring the highest level of performance and reliability.
CompensationThe hourly rate for this position is $56.98 per hour inclusive of base rate and premiums. After 1 year of service, the hourly rate will increase to $59.55 per hour inclusive of base rate and premiums. We also offer a comprehensive group benefits plan as part of our competitive compensation package.
Job DescriptionThis is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Resident Heavy Equipment Technician with Journeyperson certification. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing assemblies, preventative maintenance, repairs and complete overhauls on heavy equipment. Additionally, they will diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized or other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with the latest technology and equipment, including Komatsu machines. You will be required to interpret work orders and technical manuals, and make recommendations regarding the extent of repairs and suggest methods of improvement.
- Performing assemblies, preventative maintenance, repairs and complete overhauls on heavy equipment.
- Diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized or other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
- Making recommendations regarding the extent of repairs and suggesting methods of improvement.
- Interpreting work orders and technical manuals.
- Completing job-specific reports and paperwork as needed.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Experience in the repair of construction, forestry and utility equipment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
