Job Summary

The Atlantic Canada Fish Farmers Association seeks an experienced and strategic leader to serve as its Executive Director. This key role will be responsible for guiding the development and promotion of finfish aquaculture throughout Atlantic Canada.

About Us

The Atlantic Canada Fish Farmers Association is a leading voice in the finfish industry, representing farmers, feed producers, suppliers, and service support organizations. Our mission is to promote environmentally and commercially responsible aquaculture practices in Atlantic Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop a vision and strategic plan to guide the association's growth and sustainability.
  • Membership Engagement: Foster strong relationships with members and advocate on their behalf at all levels of government.
  • Partnership Development: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including funders, government agencies, and industry partners.
  • Operations and Project Management: Lead operational plans, services, and project budgets to promote opportunities for finfish farming in Atlantic Canada.
  • Public Relations and Advocacy: Serve as the primary spokesperson for the association, representing the views and interests of the finfish industry.
  • Board Governance: Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors to provide regular communication, information, and policy guidance.
Requirements

We are seeking an individual with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the seafood or related sectors. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated leadership experience in member relations, public advocacy, networking, and collaborative government relations.

The successful candidate will have strong communication, media relations, public speaking, presentations, and facilitation skills. Substantial experience in strategic planning, leading people, financial operations, and project execution is also required.
