Job Summary:

Aecon is seeking a highly skilled TBM Project Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our tunnel boring machine (TBM) projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fills-in Shift Production Reports using internal report software, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
  • Carries out quality control checks using internal check sheets, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Manages the survey equipment, ensuring it is suitable for the works and in calibration, supporting the surveyor as needed.
  • Measures materials usage and provides quantity information for preparation of material requisitions, optimizing resource allocation.
  • Keeps track of Muck Haulage quantities and compares with TBM Scales Recordings for system calibration, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitors TBM Advance parameters and ensures they are in accordance with Permit to tunnel, maintaining compliance and safety.
  • Fills in the ring-built production report, providing critical information for project management.
  • Carries out on-site testing of materials and products as required, ensuring quality and safety standards.
  • Collects samples of material (backfill grout, excavated soil) when required, providing immediate feedback to Tunnel Foreman/TBM Operator.
  • Reads and understands method statements and makes sure that site operations follow these methods accurately, reporting any variances to supervisors and his supervising engineer.
  • Effective communication of technical information to the workforce and technical support during operations, fostering a culture of collaboration and safety.
  • Provides feedback to supervising engineers/managers on the effectiveness of work performed, driving continuous improvement.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 1 or 2 years of experience working on a TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) project.
    • Hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline. Civil, Structural, or Mechanical preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team, with the ability to build strong relationships.
    • Intermediate to expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze and present data effectively.
    • Organizational skills to handle multiple tasks within a high-pressure work site environment, with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
    • Interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral), with the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.
    • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees, with a strong customer service focus.
    • Willingness for continuous learning and advancement of technical knowledge, with a commitment to staying up-to-date with industry developments.
