Job Description

At Standard BioTools, we are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Markham. This is an on-site role, requiring the candidate to be in the office 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and review weekly, monthly, and quarterly demand and supply analysis, highlighting surplus, shortfall, and initiating contingency plans.
  • Initiate and review weekly/monthly/quarterly production plans in response to changes and priorities, creating and managing release of work orders.
  • Manage MRP (Material Requirement Planning) and identify optimum inventory levels, preparing quarterly buy-plans for approval, and initiating purchase requisitions.
  • Create and maintain new part numbers and master routes and BOMs in ERP.
  • Manage Capacity Requirement Planning (CRP), maintaining capacity tables and performing capacity and constraint analysis.
  • Play a significant role in the successful implementation and transition to new ERP systems.
  • Work with cross-functional teams on cost reduction initiatives and new product introductions.
  • Work with logistics partners to complete inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Perform production backflushing, close workorders, and maintain inventory accuracy, including onsite and trunk stocks.
  • Manage global cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, take corrective actions, and scrap any unresolved variances.
  • Maintain warehouse organization.
  • Produce Salesforce reports and close requests in ERP.
  • Initiate work process improvements in day-to-day planning and execution.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in engineering, science, or business administration with at least 8 years of industry experience in high technology businesses, with a minimum of 3 years in a planning role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Well-versed in ERP systems, able to analyze and maintain ERP systems.
  • Salesforce reporting.
  • Mature, high level of initiative, hardworking, analytical, and able to work independently.
  • Strong in communications, negotiations, and presentation skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and values teamwork.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, excellent with Microsoft Excel.
  • Good organizational skills and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
