Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team at Thomas Cavanagh Construction Limited. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide coaching and guidance to operations personnel on safe behavior and adherence to health and safety requirements.
  • Assist sites in executing health and safety improvement plans, identifying areas for improvement, and developing action plans.
  • Work with management teams to implement and improve health and safety systems within operations.
  • Communicate and execute programs associated with the Health and Safety Management System.
  • Coach site personnel on hazard recognition, risk assessment, and control, as well as the hierarchy of controls.
  • Develop safe work processes for industrial, aggregate, and construction projects, focusing on high-risk activities.
  • Provide on-site support for incident investigations and ensure timely reporting.
  • Assist with tracking and follow-up for health and safety audit action plans.
  • Support site management in ensuring the early and safe return to work for injured employees.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in an operational role, with a focus on health and safety.
  • Applicable college or university education is considered an asset.
  • Strong ability to use office suite software programs.
  • Experience with Site Docs is considered an asset.
