We are seeking a skilled Woodworking Expert to join our team at GTA Development Services Inc. in various locations, including construction, renovation, and commercial projects.

Salary: $55,000 - $75,000 per year

About the Role

The successful candidate will work on-site, preparing estimates of labour and material costs, reading blueprints, and measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials as required
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Scheduling and coordinating work on sites
  • Surveying building locations and levels
  • Instructing apprentices
  • Supervising other workers
  • Estimating costs and materials
  • Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1-7 months of experience
  • Ability to work outdoors and in confined spaces
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Excellent problem-solving skills

Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, handling heavy loads, and working with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will be physically demanding and able to handle a large workload.
