About the Role

Catch Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Junior Process Engineer / EIT to join our team in Calgary. As a key member of our process engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering process engineering tasks and deliverables across diverse projects in the Oil & Gas, Energy Transition, and Green Energy sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop process engineering deliverables, including block flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, process simulations, energy and material balances, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and equipment sizing.
  • Participate in project review meetings and client meetings as required.
  • Maintain interfaces with all disciplines and ensure that requirements of other disciplines and projects are catered to.
  • Establish and maintain interfaces and a positive relationship with clients and external parties.
  • Promote the use of company processes, tools, and procedures, and project-specific procedures and work processes.
  • Achieve productivity, quality, and other performance-related goals.
  • Comply with Company's Code of Conduct and all company and departmental policies and procedures, including Health, Safety, and Environment policies.
Qualification Requirements
  • Completed post-secondary education and/or combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 2 – 5 years' experience as a Process Engineer in the Oil & Gas industry, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in gas processing or Energy Transition projects.
  • EIT or Registered Professional Engineer in Alberta or eligible for registration.
Skills Requirements
  • Proficient in process engineering tools and methods, including Aspen HYSYS Suites, Flarenet, hydraulic calculations, overpressure protection, and PSV sizing.
  • Proficient in developing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), energy and material balances, equipment sizing, system hydraulics, control valve/relief valves sizing, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), line list, relief loads estimation, etc.
  • Thorough, detailed knowledge and hands-on experience of process engineering aspects of Oil & Gas industries, with knowledge of CCS and green hydrogen productions an asset.
  • In-depth technical knowledge and understanding of discipline key work processes, as well as overall project development stages.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Oil & Gas industry and its standards, practices, and requirements.
  • Good interpersonal skills and easy to approach.
  • Solid problem-solving, planning, and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Site engineering experience in Alberta Oil & Gas sector an asset.
  • Experience in project reviews (HAZOP, SIL, Model Review) an asset.
