About the Role

MAGCOR INC. is seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Carpenter to join our team. As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will be responsible for assisting experienced carpenters in the construction of various projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of layouts and measurements for building projects
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials
  • Participate in the construction of foundations, installation of floor beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roof systems
  • Operate hand tools and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Work in a team environment to meet project deadlines
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Work site environment: Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy and dusty conditions
  • Work setting: Construction, various locations, commercial, industrial, and residential
  • Tasks: Prepare layouts, measure and cut materials, build foundations, and install roof systems
  • Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools
  • Transportation/travel information: Own transportation required
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, and working in a physically demanding environment
  • Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots required
  • Personal suitability: Accurate, judgement, reliability, team player, and punctuality
  • Experience: Will train, permanent position, 37.5 hours per week, and English language
