About the Role

MAGCOR INC. is seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Carpenter to join our team. As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will be responsible for assisting experienced carpenters in the construction of various projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of layouts and measurements to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to construct foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Operate hand tools and other equipment to perform carpentry tasks.
  • Work in a team environment to achieve project goals and deadlines.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: Willingness to train and learn.
  • Work site environment: Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy, dusty, and outdoor environments.
  • Work setting: Construction, various locations, commercial, industrial, and residential settings.
  • Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools.
  • Transportation/travel information: Own transportation.
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, large workload, physically demanding, and tight deadlines.
  • Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
  • Personal suitability: Accurate, judgement, reliability, team player, punctuality, work term: permanent, work language: English, and hours: 37.5 hours per week.
