Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineering Supervisor oversees the installation, repair, and upkeep of Langdon Hall's property, including machines, mechanical systems, buildings, and other structures. This role involves delegating tasks to subordinates and performing tasks themselves, requiring a high level of skill and knowledge about physical resources and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Inspecting the facility to identify maintenance needs
  2. Checking electrical units to ensure they are functioning properly
  3. Hiring and training maintenance professionals to support the team
  4. Ordering parts and equipment to maintain the facility
  5. Recording daily maintenance activity to track progress
  6. Delegating work responsibilities to team members
  7. Hiring and training new staff to support the team
  8. Contacting service providers and contractors to address maintenance needs
  9. Preparing work schedules to ensure efficient use of resources
  10. Performing essential and emergency repairs to maintain the facility
  11. Hands-on performance of maintenance tasks
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
Effective communication skills in written and oral form
Organizational and administrative skills
Ability to manage people and time
Ability to conduct multiple tasks
Knowledge of plumbing and carpentry
Experience with building and equipment maintenance
Proficiency with electrical and other tools
Understanding of computer applications
Ability to troubleshoot issues
Understanding of blueprints and estimating needs
Adaptability and self-motivation
Project management and prioritization skills
Ability to prepare work schedules
Recording and reporting skills
