Farm Hand Job Description

Dunphy's Poultry Farm Ltd. is seeking a skilled and dedicated Farm Hand to join our team. As a Farm Hand, you will be responsible for handling animals, monitoring animal health, and performing livestock feeding tasks.

Work Site Environment

Our farm operates in a layer poultry farming setting, and you will be working in a rural area. You will be required to handle animals, monitor their health, and perform tasks such as feeding and treating livestock.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle animals and monitor their health
  • Perform livestock feeding tasks
  • Treat livestock health issues
  • Feed and tend animals
  • Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
  • Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
  • Maintain livestock performance records
  • Maintain quality control and production records
  • Maintain work records and logs
  • Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry
  • Perform general farm duties
  • Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns, pens and chicken coops
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

The Farm Hand will work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and will be required to perform physically demanding tasks. You will need to be able to work independently, have attention to detail, and be able to stand for extended periods.
