About the Opportunity

The Physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses and treats patients in a tertiary care setting, utilizing a holistic approach to regain and maintain optimal function. This involves obtaining a detailed medical history, performing specific tests and evaluation procedures to determine a physical diagnosis. Treatment programs are developed using a range of techniques, including exercises, education and manual therapy, to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The Physiotherapist collaborates with other health disciplines to promote health, provide education and communicate effectively with patients, family members and caregivers. They also provide supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students and assistants. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required for this role.

About You

We are seeking a qualified Physiotherapist with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited university. The ideal candidate will possess membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists and strong computer skills, including statistics input, word processing and GroupWise. Annual certifications in Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System are also required. A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation are necessary for this role. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.

Hours

This is a permanent full-time position, requiring 75 hours bi-weekly. The successful candidate will work a regular schedule, including weekends in some areas of the hospital.

Compensation and Incentives

The hourly rate for this position is $33.97 - $42.89. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan. Permanent long assignments may also be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
