Chief Architect for Unified Communications

About the Role
The City of Vancouver is seeking a highly skilled Unified Communications Manager to lead the development and implementation of telecommunications infrastructure and services. As a key member of the IT team, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and operating a range of UC technologies, including calling, mobility, contact centre, and online meeting platforms.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive UC technology roadmap for telecommunications infrastructure and services.
- Manage the City's mobility services and mobile device management.
- Ensure the City's telecommunications infrastructure and services operate to agreed service levels.
- Guide the organization through communication systems changes and migrations.
- Lead the UC team, including assigning responsibilities, evaluating performance, coaching, training, and development.
- Manage operational and capital budgets.
- Responsible for analyzing business requirements, preparing feasibility studies, and developing recommendations.
Requirements
- Degree in information technology or a related discipline, supplemented by technical courses related to the work, and a minimum of 7 years experience in a technical position within Information Technology and Telecommunications.
- Related experience supervising technical support staff, working with collective agreements, and dealing effectively with labour relations issues.
- Proficiency in managing both Cisco and Microsoft Teams communication systems and online meeting platforms.
