Department Leader

About the RoleWe are currently seeking a skilled Department Manager to join our team. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of your department, including supervising staff, managing inventory, and ensuring exceptional customer service.
Job Description- Supervise work according to set priorities and company requirements
- Resolve any issues that may arise while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Carry out merchandising duties as directed by the Store Manager
- Supervise the replenishment process
- Manage promotional activities based on sales performance
- Assist in recruiting staff for the department under your responsibility
- Determine work schedules while complying with established labour budgets and ensuring customer needs are met
- Coach, encourage, and motivate employees
- Assist employees regarding work performance on an ongoing basis and apply corrective measures if required
- Participate in the performance assessment process and employee training, and follow up as necessary
- FOLLOW THE STORE'S POLICIES AND PROCEDURES ON LOSS PREVENTION AND HEALTH AND SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE
The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary range of $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, RONA offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Previous experience in a retail or management role
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Able to exercise good judgment when setting priorities
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business administration or related field preferred
