Electrical Engineer in Training Role Summary
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer in Training to join our team in British Columbia. This role will be based out of Burnaby and will require travel throughout British Columbia and other provinces when necessary for project support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical analysis and design in the industrial and utility sectors
  • Design and integrate protective relaying systems
  • Conduct electrical studies including short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash, load flow, grounding, and harmonic studies
  • Creation/modification/review/approval of electrical drawing packages, including single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and general arrangements
  • Troubleshoot problems and develop practical solutions to correct deficiencies in electrical systems
  • Opportunity to support field services division for maintenance and commissioning activities on customer sites
  • Onsite engineering inspections and data collection


Requirements:

  • A four-year Electrical Engineering Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Understanding of industrial and utility protection and relay systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards, including CEC and IEEE1584
  • Experience with electrical engineering software, such as EasyPower, SKM, and ETAP, is an asset
  • Understanding of microprocessor-based relays and their capabilities is an asset
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and clean abstract, as fieldwork will be a requirement of this position
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
