Electrical Engineer Job Description

At TWD Technologies Ltd, we are committed to creating an environment that encourages our employees to perform to their highest potential. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in our Burnaby, BC office.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement electrical plans and designs to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and work order requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of electrical system problems.
  • Design and develop electrical systems, including cable tray layouts, electrical equipment arrangements, lighting layouts, and LV single line diagrams.
  • Conduct detailed calculations to ensure that designs meet engineered standards and applicable codes.
  • Prepare specifications for the purchase of materials and equipment.
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software, such as AutoCAD and MicroStation/PDS.
  • Develop and maintain technical reports, documentation, and calculations.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development Team to effectively manage and expand existing customer relationships.
  • Support the growth and development of a new customer base.
Qualifications and Technical Skills
  • 5 to 8 years of work experience from graduation level, possible PMP designation or relevant work experience.
  • Professional Engineer's designation in BC or in another Canadian Province.
  • Demonstrated design of distribution-related electrical systems is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated design of Building Systems, e.g., fire alarm, data/voice, security, door access controls, lighting controls.
  • Demonstrated design of Hospitals, e.g., nurse call, normal, vital, and delayed vital power systems, fire alarm, data/voice, security, door access controls, lighting controls.
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles.
  • Demonstrated use of ETAP, a power system analysis software.
  • Demonstrated use of AGI32, a lighting analysis software.
  • Beginner to Intermediate skills with drafting tools such as AutoCAD, REVIT, and/or MicroStation is preferred.
