Amazon Web Services (AWS) is at the forefront of cloud storage, with our Simple Storage Service (S3) being one of the largest storage services in the world. We handle trillions of objects and serve millions of requests per second, growing exponentially.

In this role, you will be part of the S3 Index Services team, developing software responsible for durability and availability of key-value metadata. You will work on some of the most challenging computer science problems, building services that can handle varying access patterns and unprecedented load by our customers.

The S3 Index team is seeking passionate and experienced software engineers to build the next generation of internet-scale Tier 1 web services for S3. You will own large-scale distributed systems responsible for maintaining the durability, availability, and scalability of the S3 Index. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to develop back-end subsystems with hard distributed system problems used by millions of applications worldwide.

About the Role

  • Develop back-end subsystems with hard distributed system problems
  • Work on large-scale distributed systems responsible for S3 Index durability, availability, and scalability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable solutions

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
