Job Description: Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

The Wireless Finance team at Rogers is seeking an experienced Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to join our Corporate team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of Sr Financial Analysts, managing period close procedures, reviewing financial results, and building relationships with business units to ensure accurate information flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and develop a team of Sr Financial Analysts to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  2. Manage and oversee period close procedures, including review of journal entries and distribution of management and finance reporting packages
  3. Review variance commentary on financial results and key business indicators in partnership with Wireless Consumer Business Unit
  4. Build relationships with business unit leaders and other departments to ensure accurate information flow and understanding of overall reporting process
  5. Review accuracy of financial models to support performance management with trend and program impact assumptions and provide coaching for improvement
  6. Accountable for tracking financial, program, and KBI results against multiple comparison points, including forecast, budget, and prior year
  7. Oversee execution of business case financial modeling in support of channel compensation-related decisions
  8. Oversee ongoing maintenance and refinement of business case models, ensuring updated data inputs reflect latest business and market dynamics
  9. Facilitate post-implementation reviews of new commissions, rate cards, spiffs with project owners and proactively challenge status quo
  10. Field questions from Controllers Group as required

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in financial planning and analysis
  • University degree in business or CPA accounting designation
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to build relationships with business groups and finance organizations
  • Excellent judgment and ability to see big picture, with strong organizational and planning skills
  • Extensive Microsoft Excel experience and high comfort level with numbers
  • Ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks in fast-paced environment and take complete ownership of projects
