Job Summary

Havenview Optics Inc is seeking a skilled Optometrist Assistant to join our team. As an Optometrist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our optometrists in delivering high-quality eye care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer eye drops, ointments, and medications as directed by ophthalmologists
  • Develop information materials for patients
  • Follow through on treatment programs with patients
  • Maintain prescription records
  • Record test results and medications given by ophthalmologists
  • Maintain supplies
  • Perform general clerical duties
  • Process files and paperwork
  • Schedule and confirm appointments
  • Take patients' general medical and ophthalmic history
  • Manage routine office functions including reception, telephone, and booking appointments
  • Organize and maintain inventory
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • MS Office, MS Outlook, and MS Word skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and with repetitive tasks
  • Physical demands include sitting, standing, and walking
  • Personal suitability includes accuracy, client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, initiative, organization, and teamwork
