About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Ahmic Lake Resort. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Cost Control: Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to ensure optimal profitability.
  • Chef Development: Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to our cooking staff, promoting a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise the activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers, ensuring seamless kitchen operations.
  • Culinary Instruction: Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food, maintaining high standards of culinary expertise.
  • Menu Development: Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets, showcasing your culinary creativity.
  • Food Safety: Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions, adhering to strict food safety protocols.
  • Supply Chain Management: Requisition food and kitchen supplies, ensuring timely delivery and optimal inventory levels.
  • Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring their safety.
  • Staff Management: Recruit and hire staff, training them in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, maintaining a skilled and motivated team.
Requirements
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Fluency in English.
