Job Title: Full-Time Educational Assistants

We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated individuals to join our team as Full-Time Educational Assistants at F.P. Walshe School in Fort Macleod, Alberta.

About the Role:

Under the direction of the Learning Support Teacher, the successful candidate will provide one-on-one and small group assistance for students to help meet their learning goals, as identified in their individualized learning plans. This will involve providing in-class supports for students with Individual Student Plans (ISPs).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one and small group assistance for students to help meet their learning goals
  • Support students with Individual Student Plans (ISPs) in the classroom
  • Work collaboratively with the Learning Support Team to develop and implement student learning plans
  • Build relationships with students who require patience and flexibility
  • Support students with different diagnoses, including Autism and complex behaviors
Requirements:
  • Experience working with students in one-on-one, small group, and inclusive classroom settings
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with students who require patience and flexibility
  • Experience and training in working with students with different diagnoses
  • Experience working collaboratively with a Learning Support Team
  • Experience or training working with First Nations cultures
  • Physically fit and able to keep up with the demands of working with a student with complex needs
  • Educational Assistant certification and/or Health Care Aide certification or equivalent would be an asset
  • NVCI and/or SIVA training would be an asset
