About the Role

We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated Educational Assistants to join our team at Livingstone Range School Division. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in helping students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one and small group assistance to students with diverse needs, supporting their learning plans and in-class supports.
  • Work collaboratively with the Learning Support Team to develop and implement strategies for student success.
  • Build strong relationships with students, demonstrating patience, flexibility, and a commitment to their well-being.
  • Support students with complex needs, requiring physical fitness and adaptability.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as Autism support, complex behaviors, and First Nations cultures.
Requirements
  • Experience working with students in one-on-one, small group, and inclusive classroom settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with students who require patience and flexibility.
  • Experience and training in working with students with different diagnoses, including Autism and complex behaviors.
  • Experience working collaboratively with a Learning Support Team.
  • Experience or training working with First Nations cultures.
  • Physical fitness and ability to keep up with the demands of working with a student with complex needs.
  • Educational Assistant certification and/or Health Care Aide certification or equivalent.
  • NVCI and/or SIVA training would be an asset.
