About the Opportunity:
">The Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled Academic General Internist to join our team. This full-time clinical academic position will be based primarily at Toronto General Hospital (TGH) and Toronto Western Hospital (TWH), with a 75% clinical component and the remainder dedicated to teaching, scholarship, or quality improvement initiatives.
">Job Summary:
">We are looking for a candidate who possesses outstanding communication, teaching, organizational, and interpersonal skills, enabling them to work collaboratively with other physicians, learners, hospital staff, and administrators. The successful candidate should have an interest in both inpatient and ambulatory general internal medicine and be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in General Internal Medicine.
">Responsibilities:
">- Clinical Component: Deliver high-quality patient care, conduct consultations, and participate in medical education and research activities within the Department of Medicine.
- Teaching and Scholarship: Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education programs, engage in scholarly activities, and pursue research initiatives that advance the field of general internal medicine.
- Quality Improvement: Collaborate with colleagues to identify areas for quality improvement and implement strategies to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements:
">- Hold MD qualifications and be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in General Internal Medicine.
- Be licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario or eligible for licensure.
- Possess excellent communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
Compensation and Benefits:
">This position offers a competitive salary range of $250,000-$300,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The University of Toronto provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, pension plan, and paid time off.
