Join the City of Kelowna's Community Safety team as a Crime Review Officer, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of police investigations and providing quality assurance audits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough reviews of police investigational files to ensure compliance with legal obligations and policy requirements.
  • Identify and address deficiencies in file scoring and classification, ensuring accurate and detailed reporting to the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics (CCJS).
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and corrective direction to police personnel to ensure file integrity and quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with the Kelowna Regional Detachment to develop and implement quality assurance processes and procedures.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to RCMP cadets and regular members on quality assurance issues and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations and reports.
  • Knowledge of Operational Statistical Reporting (OSR), Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR), and RCMP databases and policies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance.
