Job Summary

The Supportive Living Worker is responsible for empowering and supporting individuals with disabilities to engage in life skills, daily activities, and social engagements of their choice. This role assists participants to live successfully in residential settings, ensuring their physical, emotional, social, educational, and medical needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist participants with daily living activities, such as feeding, toileting, and personal care.
  • Support individuals with mental disabilities and mental illness, promoting their well-being and quality of life.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to enhance life skills and social engagement.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure a supportive and inclusive community environment.
  • Provide transportation for participants using a safe and reliable vehicle.

Requirements

  • Certificate in a related human/social service field.
  • One year recent related experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with dual diagnosis and challenging behaviors an asset.
  • Vaccine Passport with a minimum of two vaccinations.
  • Class 4 Driver's License (able to obtain within 6 months).
  • Current First Aid and CPR.
  • Current TB test results.
  • Clear, current Criminal Record Check.
  • Physicians Approval of Health.
  • Food Safe Certification.
  • Safety-Care Training.
