Job Summary:

We are seeking a Mental Health Clinician to join our team. As an instrumental member of the Mental Health Program, you will provide direct and indirect patient care, including assessments of patients' physical, emotional, cognitive, and behaviour skills. You will respond to referrals and consultations by assessing patients and developing safety and other treatment plans; identify problem areas; establish measurable goals and objectives for patients. The clinician will implement treatment as needed and document all findings, interventions, and outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care, including assessments of patients' physical, emotional, cognitive, and behaviour skills
  • Respond to referrals and consultations by assessing patients and developing safety and other treatment plans
  • Identify problem areas and establish measurable goals and objectives for patients
  • Implement treatment as needed and document all findings, interventions, and outcomes
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and discharge planning as well as liaising with community agencies for services required post discharge
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Successful completion of secondary school required
  • Candidates must be registered with an approved Regulated Health Profession College (Social Work, Occupational Therapist)
  • Baccalaureate degree is essential; Master's degree preferred
  • Must have extensive experience organizing and facilitating groups i.e CBT, DBT etc
  • Must have a good understanding of current legislation related to; Mental Health Act, Healthcare Consent Act, Substitute Decisions Act and Privacy Act
