Job Summary

We are seeking a Registered Practical Nurse with experience in mental health related nursing to join our team. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiating skills in a multidisciplinary environment. They will also possess knowledge of psychotropic medications, their uses, methods of action, and administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide high-quality nursing care to individuals with serious disruptions in mental health.
  • To work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • To maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient care.
  • To participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices in mental health nursing.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A valid Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • A Diploma or equivalent in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in mental health related nursing.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiating skills.
  • Knowledge of psychotropic medications, their uses, methods of action, and administration.

Working Conditions

This role requires working all shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, as well as holidays. The physical demands of the role may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
