Canada Royal Milk is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Operating and Process Control Officer to join our team. As a key member of our production department, you will be responsible for planning and controlling the plant's production operations, leading high-priority and complex projects, and ensuring the highest quality and nutritional value of our products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and control the plant's production operations to meet quality and production targets.
- Lead high-priority and complex projects within the production department to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Develop and maintain accurate records and reports to track production performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with production supervisors and technical staff to resolve production or processing problems.
- Liaise with other departments, including Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain, HR, and HSE, to ensure seamless operations and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Actively participate in and lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), reduce manufacturing loss, and optimize inventory levels.
- Develop, implement, and maintain production Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and conduct training for production employees.
- Ensure timely and thorough sanitation of all equipment and facilities to maintain a safe and efficient production environment.
- Follow and administer Quality Policies and Procedures, including food safety, HACCP, traceability, and production hold investigations.
- Troubleshoot process areas by identifying and analyzing process problems and advising processing operators on corrective actions.
- Plan, organize, control, and evaluate plant production operations to continually improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Participate in the oversight and inspection of manufacturing equipment installation and testing to ensure safety and compliance.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of production tracking or quality control systems to detect production problems.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Technology, Food Science, or a related field.
- Experience in the food processing environment, with a strong understanding of food manufacturing, planning, GMP, and root cause analysis.
- Strong technical background and ability to create and maintain accurate records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with production supervisors, technical staff, and other departments.
- Ability to read and understand written English and communicate in English both spoken and in writing.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate business needs.
